Brian York is presently the Director of Bands at Citrus High School in Inverness, FL (January 2006-present). Prior to moving to Inverness, he was the band director and Performing Arts Department Chair at Pensacola High School (2002 to Jan 2006), and the Band Director / General Music Teacher at Pensacola Catholic High School (1999 to 2002), as well as the Adjunct Percussion Professor at the University of West Florida.
Mr. York received his BA in Music Performance/Education from the University of West Florida in the spring of 2000 under the supervision of Professors Richard Glaze and Wayne Webster. He has also studied private percussion from Gary Werdeshime (Florida State University), Dr. John Wooten (University of Southern Mississippi), and Keith Connelly (drum set player with 70's rock band 3 Dog Night). While in Pensacola, he performed regularly with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the Okaloosa Chamber Orchestra, the Pensacola Opera, and the Pensacola Little Theatre.
In addition, Mr. York has taught at band camps and percussion clinics throughout the State of Florida and has written music and percussion arrangments for many schools throughout Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He is also an active member of MENC, FMEA, and FBA where he presently serves as the District 5 secretary. Mr. York also leads the Praise and Worship Band at the First Baptist Church of Inverness.
Brian York resides in Inverness with his wife Denise, and 2 children (Sebastian and Taylor). When he has free time, Brian York enjoys playing video games, reading a good book, and catching up on his sleep.
Dawn Martin was born and raised in Miami, FL. She marched in high school band as a piccolo player and later in guard and also competed in winterguard for two seasons. She attended University of Miami, where she majored in Music Education. She marched 3 years on drumline with the Band of the Hour, performed in several music ensembles and volunteered her time to teach a local high school drumline. She is also an inducted member of Tau Beta Sigma(band fraternity) currently holding alumni status.
After traveling around the world for a few years, she settled in Tampa long enough to earn her bachelors degree in English Literature from University of South Florida. While living in Tampa, FL, she volunteered to teach drumline at Liberty Middle School.
Dawn Martin currently lives in Inverness, FL with her husband, Kerry, and three talented children - Kendall, JC and Lola. Outside of band, her activities include reading, writing, playing Guitar Hero and going to the gym.
Angela St. George grew up in Maryland where she began playing the clarinet in 4th grade. In high school she participated in the marching band, serving as head drum major during her senior year. When her family moved to Florida she decided to attend college in the state. As a member of the University of Florida's Fighting Gator Marching Band she served as section leader for two years and was privileged to support two winning BCS National Championship teams. At UF Ms. St. George became a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity and as an alumni still maintains close ties with current members.
After earning a Bachelors degree in history, Ms. St. George stayed at UF to complete her Masters of Social Studies Education and earned that degree in August 2010. She currently teaches various levels of American History courses at Citrus High School.
